WiMAX ready to boost mobile internet in India: Samsung

Making a strong case for WiMAX as the perfect technology for speedy roll-out of mobile internet access in India, Korea-based Samsung Electronics has offered its services and expertise along with its global partners to Indian operators to boost broadband penetration. “We have successfully deployed commercial mobile WiMAX networks in over three dozen countries in Asia, Americas and Europe, covering 15-crore people, which will go up to 30-crore by the end of this year. Mobile WiMAX is suitable for India for its speedy deployment,” Samsung Electronics Vice-President (Global Sales and Marketing Team, Telecom Systems) Hung Song told The Hindu. Samsung is on a roll these days, coming out with cheap and touch screen phones one after the other. But what makes its latest offering, the Samsung Star Nano, special is its 3G feature, priced at an affordable Rs. 7320 . Among its specs, it has 2.6 inches QVGA display, 35MB internal memory (expandable up to 16GB), 1.3 megapixel camera, music recognition, FM radio, video recording. The device also supports class 10 GPRS and EDGE technology along with Bluetooth feature. Samsung launches S5620 Monte phone

Samsung India has expanded its touchscreen mobile phone line-up in India with the launch of S5620 Monte. Samsung S5620 has a 3" TFT touch screen and comes equipped with Smart unlock, accelerometer sensor, 3.15 mega pixel camera and geo-tagging. Other features include smile detection capability, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, Google Maps, Stereo FM Radio and image editing applications. The 3G-ready phone claims to offer 9 hours, 42 minutes of talk time. The phone's internal memory is 200 MB which can be expanded using a microSD card. Samsung S5620 is priced at Rs 8,850 approximately.

Samsung Monte launched in India

Samsung fans now have a good reason to celebrate. Its new model, Samsung Monte is being launched in India. Considering the features of this phone, it is a good buy at a price of Rs 8,850. The Samsung Monte is a 3G-enbaled mobile phone sports. It has a 3.0 inch WQVGA touchscreen with a ratio of 16:9 and a 3.2 inch camera. It has a 200 MB internal memory and the handset comes with a 2 GB microSD card. The memory is expandable up to 8 GB. It has GPS integrated with it and can add geotags to the pictures. The mobile has a capability of synchronizing its contacts and appointments with the PC. It has connectivity options of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 making it possible to connect to a Wi-Fi network anywhere. Other facilities include a MP3 and video player and FM radio. Samsung has announced the launch of its latest phone, the Metro branded S5350 in India. The Metro is a mid-range phone directed at the young user and comes loaded with an Instant Messenger application and a host of social networking widgets. It also offers quick access to Google applications and sites like Flickr and Picasa. The phone features a 3.2 megapixel camera and is 3G ready as well. The Metro comes with 256MB of internal memory. You can add a microSD card and expand the memory upto 16GB. The phone also supports nine regional languages. With India getting ready for 3G and BSNL already launching 3G services in various places across the country, a cheap, affordable 3G handset does make sense now. First Samsung Dual Sim Touchscreen B5722 in India

Samsung has announced the launch of its latest touchscreen handset, the B5722 in India. The device happens to be the first touchscreen from the company to support two SIM cards. The phone will also be known as the B5722 DUOS. The phone boasts of features like a decent 3.2 mega pixel camera, 30 MB memory (expandable to 8 GB with SD card ) and a very respectable 14 hours of talk and a 20 day standby time. The B5722 is a GSM+GSM dual SIM phone and the user will be able to use two GSM SIM cards in a single phone. Users can switch from one SIM to another without having to switch off the handset.
