Game Developer Conference Dominated by Sony’s PlayStation Move

Game Developers Conference 2010 saw display of photographic series of Sony's PlayStation Move launch. This week's conference was glittered by Sony's PlayStation Move motion controller. This event was full of new announcements and launches of products which came in queue or the Sony customers. The conference week also witnessed Independent Games Festival Awards, including indie projects, many of which are expected to be made available on Xbox Live, PC downloadable games and iPhones.

PlayStation Move game controller has been reported to provide platform for four players equipped with complete configuration on PlayStation 3 console, by Gizmodo. PS3 therefore can be connected to four Move controllers or two pairs of Move controller with Subcontroller simultaneously.


Introduced at the Conference, the new PlayStation Move controller has 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer for accurate exposure of the controller movement with high-precision motion sensors for sensing movement. For connection, move controller and Subcontroller make use of Bluetooth interface, seven of which are supported. It has been revealed by a copyright legal filing that power emissions, radiation emissions and peak output levels for WLAN modules and Bluetooth were being tested.

Apple iSlate to get Jack Bauer as a co-star in 24?

Apple’s Tablet is bound to become this year’s gadget must-have if it does appear later today but it seems like 24’s perennially imperilled hero Jack Bauer could be among the first to get an Apple iSlate. Is the Apple iSlate/iPad/iTablet ready for its close-up? Fox, makers of 24, are apparently in the process of doing a deal with Apple to get the Apple iSlate into a forthcoming episode of the time sensitive terror drama. The rumour comes from a pretty credible source. Rodney Charters , 24’s director of photography who’s been tweeting his excitement. Charters followed a major American publisher in tipping the cat out of the bag with a fairly matter-of-fact tweet: “Hmmm looks like we may get an iSlate into Jack’s hands for Ep 20.
